VertexCFO provides fractional CFO and Controller expertise to middle market and well-funded start-up companies seeking to make solid financial decisions to manage, grow or sell their companies. We specialize in making sense of complex financial information, providing CEOs and entrepreneurs sound data to run their businesses and present to their investors. Fractional CFO Advisor:

This role is a subcontractor/1099 role which provides the successful candidate a voice on our team and the ability to jointly structure a schedule that works for all parties. We source all clients, provide marketing support and processes and procedures. We work with our CFO Advisors to build a group of strong clients, with a competitive pay structure and incentives.

Requirements:

Our successful CFO Advisors have previous experience as consultants managing multiple client relationships or have worked in an organization that had multiple operational locations where the CFO had to work with different leaders to manage their division or business unit. We are seeking CFOs who enjoy managing client relationships, working for a variety of businesses and personalities and adding value. We are financial experts, account managers and advisors delivering valuable business advice.

Proactive and positive, always trying to identify how we can help and drive clients toward ultimate solutions. We are strong communicators focused on client relationships and best-in-class service.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain multiple successful client relationships
  • Manage the overall financial close process, financial statement preparation and KPI’s for clients
  • Mentor, manage and provide leadership to client accounting team and VertexCFO assigned team members
  • Manage multiple deadlines and multi-task to meet client needs
  • Conduct financial analysis
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasting reports
  • Oversight and management of accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Board, investor meetings and presentations
  • Build complex Excel budget and forecasting tools.

Experience Requirements:

  • CPA
  • 4-year accounting degree from accredited university
  • 15+ years progressive accounting leadership experience and held the title of CFO or VP of Finance
  • Strong GAAP reporting and compliance background
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task

This position works closely with our CFO’s, client senior leadership and accounting staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain multiple successful client relationships
  • Manage the overall financial close process, financial statement preparation and KPI’s for clients
  • Perform reconciliations for all general ledger accounts and analyze key variances to provide explanations to our clients
  • Manage multiple deadlines and multi-task to meet client needs
  • Maintain oversight and leadership of client accounting team
  • Conduct financial analysis
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasting reports
  • Oversight and management of accounting policies, procedures, and controls
  • Possess strong reconciliation skills and general ledger management
  • Present month-end close and financial statements

Experience Requirements:

  • CPA preferable, but not required
  • 4-year accounting degree from accredited university
  • 5+ years Controller experience or accounting manager/assistant controller looking to make the step in their career
  • Strong GAAP reporting and compliance background

This position works closely with our CFOs, Controllers and client senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain multiple successful client relationships
  • Perform reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts
  • Manage multiple deadlines and multi-task to meet client needs
  • Process and record company credit card information into accounting system to accurately record transactions
  • Maintain accounts payable (i.e. match purchase orders to vendor invoices, enter bills accurately, make payments, 1099s, etc.) and maintain vendor relationships
  • Maintain accounts receivable-invoicing customers, process payments, record transactions, and follow up on collections
  • Maintain accurate files for accounts payable, customer contracts, payments, expense reports etc.
  • Payroll processing with outside payroll vendor - may be assigned tasks to maintain employee records, process payroll, new hire paperwork etc.
  • Assist with month-end close deadlines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting of all AP, AR, payroll and other key items as assigned within established policies and procedures
  • Maintain sales tax information and timely file sales tax reports
  • Inventory and fixed assets - assist with maintaining accurate inventory and fixed asset records
  • Perform special projects and other administrative tasks for the company as needed

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-year associates accounting degree or extensive accounting/bookkeeping experience

  • Pay range for position is $25-$50 per hour depending on experience
